How to Insert or Embed Images

How to Embed an Image from Box, Canvas or the Web for UTInstapoll

To insert an image into the question prompt, click on the Insert/Edit image button [1]

This will bring up the Insert/Edit Image pop-up window:

[1] You will need the Source URL, including the image file type at the end (*.gif, *jpg, etc.)
[2] Include an image description for screen readers
[3] Edit the Dimensions to make the image smaller or larger
[4] Click 'OK' when finished

Using Images from Box

To include an image from Box, use the Direct Link provided under the Share settings. This is different than the Share link. 

Log in to Box and locate the image you wish to insert. Open it and click the Share button on the far right [1]

In the Shared Link pop-up window, click the Settings icon [2]

From the Shared Link Settings window, 'Copy' the Direct Link [1] and click 'Save' [2]

Back on the Insert/edit image window in UT Instapoll, paste the Direct Link and make sure it ends in an image file type (i.e., gif or jpg).

Now your poll has an image in the question prompt. Note: the Insert/edit image button only works in the question prompt and not in the Correct/Possible Answer fields.

Images from Canvas (Files)

To use an image from Canvas Files, use the Download Link Address.  You can access this by right clicking on the Download link [1] and copying the Link Address [2].  See below for an example.

Images from the Web

You may also use images available on the web. Right click on the image and select 'Copy image address.'

Once you have a URL for your image, paste the URL in the Source box and press 'OK.'
