CNC Shop Safety Agreement
Please read and acknowledge the safety agreement. Neglecting these rules can result in losing access to the CNC machines.

Safety:

While machining, you must wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, short/rolled-up sleeves, safety glasses, etc.
Students must have completed the OH 500 certification, manual mill training, and all pre-training CNC Canvas modules.
Students must never operate machinery alone. While training is incomplete, at least one fully CNC-trained staff member must be present for Parts 1+2 and any fully CNC-trained person (staff or non-staff) for Part 3.
- Once training is complete, at least one person (regardless of their training status) must be present
  with the CNC operator.
The operator must actively monitor the machine and always be within reach of the E-stop or “feedhold” button while it’s running. Under no circumstance should the machine be left out of reach while it is on.
Tools and machines often break, so if this happens, please let a staff member know. You won't get in trouble, we just need to replace broken parts.
NEVER open the CNC doors while the tool is spinning; stop the program and set the RPM to 0 before opening the doors or reaching into the machine.

Cleanliness:

No food or drinks are allowed in the CNC Lab, except for closed water bottles kept away from the machines and computers.
Leave all machines, tools, chairs, and tables tidy and where they belong. Students who fail to clean up properly may have their access to the machines suspended.
