Course Description:
CH 302 (TCCN: CHEM 1312). Principles of Chemistry II.
Development and application of concepts, theories, and laws underlying chemistry. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Some sections also require one enrichment/discussion hour a week. Only one of the following may be counted: Chemistry 302, 302C, 302H, 305.
Covers general chemical principles including, chemical equations and bonding, solutions, acids and bases, and chemical equilibrium, kinetics and electrochemistry
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Solve chemical and physical problems including solutions, gases, thermochemistry, equilibrium, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics.
- Analyze the contributing factors involved in chemical and physical processes.
- Communicate chemical and physical processes including solutions, gases, thermochemistry, and quantum theory using chemical names and symbols.
- Identify the components of a scientific article and what is in each part
