Course Description:

CH 302 (TCCN: CHEM 1312). Principles of Chemistry II.

Development and application of concepts, theories, and laws underlying chemistry. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Some sections also require one enrichment/discussion hour a week. Only one of the following may be counted: Chemistry 302302C302H305.  

Covers general chemical principles including, chemical equations and bonding, solutions, acids and bases, and chemical equilibrium, kinetics and electrochemistry

 

Student Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Solve chemical and physical problems including solutions, gases, thermochemistry, equilibrium, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics.
  • Analyze the contributing factors involved in chemical and physical processes.
  • Communicate chemical and physical processes including solutions, gases, thermochemistry, and quantum theory using chemical names and symbols.
  • Identify the components of a scientific article and what is in each part

      UNIT 2: Chapters 13, 14, and 15

      UNIT 3: Chapters 16 and 17

      UNIT 4: Discerning Science
