If you read everything below and answer the following question, you will earn 1 extra percentage point on Exam 1
The homework you turn in is one of the most valuable tools for succeeding in our class. You should always pick each homework up after they are graded and check your answers with the key to identify concepts you may have missed, as well as look at valuable feedback from the TAs regarding how to correctly answer and format your responses so you don't make the same mistake on exams.
With over 500 students, we are unable to return each homework to individual students in class. Because of this, for the last 20 years we have returned homework alphabetically by putting them in open cabinets that you can access anytime that is convenient for you. We view this method of homework return as the most effective for both students and TAs and have not had problems returning homework this way in the past.
In order to return your homework in this manner and comply with FERPA regulations, you would need to give us permission to return your homework in these open cabinets/cubbies.
- Your grade will never be on the same page as your name, so students looking through the piles would not see your score unless they opened your homework.
- We will only return homework this way; we will never return your exams in this way.
If you do not want your homework returned in this way, you will be able to pick your homework up from the Organic Lab Stock Room Window (NHB 1.104) from 12-5pm, Monday-Thursday. You must have your student ID in order to pick up your homework from the Organic Lab Stock Room.
