Editing Videos with Panopto- Staff

Step-by-step instructions

1. Access https://utexas.hosted.panopto.com Links to an external site. and select 'EID Login' within the dropdown menu. Then, sign-in using your UT EID login credentials and go through the two-factor authentication process.

2. Find the exact video that you would like to edit. Hover over the video, and proceed to click the 'Edit' button.

3. To cut out portions of your video, simply click and drag over the section that you would like to be edited out. Click play and the highlighted portion(s) will be skipped and ignored.

4. Turn on the 'Normalize audio volume' setting to adjust the recording's audio based on perceived loudness. 

5. Click the 'Apply' button at the top of the screen to save all changes. Panopto's automatic speech recognition feature will create a synchronized transcript. After saving your edits, Panopto will reprocess and realign the transcript correctly. 

6. Click 'Ok' when prompted with the pop-up screen.

7. When processing has completed, your video with the saved edits will appear.
