Recording a Panopto Capture video in your Canvas course

Step-by-step instructions

1. Sign in to Canvas (https://canvas.utexas.edu/ Links to an external site.) and navigate to the course you are creating video for.
   
   
2. Select Panopto Video from the left-hand menu.
    
   
   
3. Click the Create dropdown and select Panopto Capture to record video with the web app. Your students will be able to see any video you record into this folder.
    
   
   
4. Panopto Capture opens in a new browser tab. You may need to allow access to your microphone and camera to proceed.
   Click the red button to begin recording. Record your content.
   Click the red button again to stop recording.
    
   
   
5. Panopto will automatically upload your recording to the course assignments folder. Note: You may close the Panopto Capture tab while your video is processing.
    
   
   
6. Once processing is complete, your video will appear in your Canvas course folder. You may need to refresh the browser window.
    
   
   
7. That's it! You created a video with Panopto Capture.
