The  MyAbroad portal (Links to an external site.) Links to an external site. is the primary student information system used by Education Abroad to collect required information about study abroad programs and students. Information in this system is use for many administrative functions and more importantly emergency management.

 

Updating your program information in MyAbroad portal:

If you want to update the program page in MyAbroad portal regarding program dates, cost, etc then please email Sarah Survance: sarah.survance@austin.utexas.edu

Adding the Student Roster:

*Important* Once your department has selected and admitted students in to your program, they should be added to MyAbroad portal as soon as possible to be cleared by Dean of Students and so that the students can begin completing the required pre-departure forms.

*Please note, once students are added to MyAbroad portal, they will be charged a non-refundable $75 application fee. For many programs with a 350xxx program code, your department will need to email a list of the names and EIDs to  sarah.survance@austin.utexas.edu.  Also if you have students who withdraw from the program, please communicate this to Sarah as soon as possible. 

 

MyAbroad Portal Statuses:

These are the most common statuses for backdoor programs (programs with a 350xxx code):

New Applicant: Authorized to begin the process but has not started the portal application or been cleared by Dean of Students. Please note: a budget cannot be submitted for any students in New Applicant status.

Conditional Accept: Completed the basic application requirements in MyAbroad portal and cleared by DOS. The student now needs to complete the pre-departure requirements.

Away: Accepted student who has completed all the pre-departure requirements in MyAbroad portal

30 days prior to the program start date.
