Getting Started
Hello Departmental Education Abroad Leaders! Education Abroad at Texas Global manages their own portfolio of programs and provides full support for those programs. Those programs go through an annual process, here is a link for more information Links to an external site..
However, many departments choose to administer their own programs. Education Abroad collaborates with departments in the implementation of their education abroad programs. We provide the following assistance:
- Coordinate MyAbroad portal access for faculty and staff
- Update MyAbroad portal program pages
- Enter program participant roster in MyAbroad portal
- Submit students' budgets to Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
- Track MyAbroad portal compliance
- Provide general guidance on the education abroad process
- Collaborate with Global Risk and Safety (GRS) on tracking Health Clearances
- Collaborate with GRS to provide training for departmental administrators regarding MyAbroad portal usage and compliance expectations
- Assist with any incidents while programs are in country
- Send out email communication to keep departments informed of deadlines, scholarships, Education Abroad events, etc
If you want to initiate a DAFL program, please email Keelan Apthorpe: keelan.apthorpe@austin.utexas.edu. Thank you for everything you do to provide opportunities for UT Austin students to participate in education abroad programs!
