Discussions

Periodically, we'll set up discussions for everyone to participate.  These might include stating your research, sharing some concerns you have with software, etc.  All members are also welcome to set up discussions, either in the main page, or in your own group.  Speaking of groups....!

People/Groups

One reason we are trying Canvas is because students can now set up their own writing groups.  To do this, just go to the People tab on the menu and walk through the steps to set up your own group invite the people you want to work with, and there you go!  Writing group! 

We do suggest keeping your writing group to 3-4 people so as to keep it manageable, and we encourage you to make your group interdisciplinary and connect with new people.  We can also set up a group for you and help you invite members.

Conferences

Chat with your fellow UT students even when you are not at UT!  You can take advantage of the Conferences page, and BigBlueButton to have video conferences.  Or, if that is a bit too much for you (we understand), you can use the simple text chat to keep each other motivated.  Set up a conference, and invite people or set it to public for everyone to join.
