Sharing Your Materials
One of the key values of OER is sharing.
You may want to share your materials as you are working on them to get feedback from other teachers or students. Here are some ways to do that:
- join a professional learning network (for example, #langchat Links to an external site. on Twitter)
- get in touch with a professional organization, for example your local chapter of ACTFL, or your state foreign language organization
- share your work at a language teaching conference
- pilot your materials in an informal group of a few volunteer "students" who are interested in learning the language
Once your work is done, share it proudly! Here are some repositories you can use:
- add your OER to OER Commons, MERLOT, or another repository, where others can use them and write reviews
- your school or state may also have a repository where you could publish your materials - ask a librarian (at UT Austin, you may add it to Texas ScholarWorks Links to an external site.)
Please note: COERLL does not publish OER on its website unless it was created in partnership with COERLL, or at the University of Texas. However, if you submit an application to be featured on and receive a badge from COERLL's Language OER Network Links to an external site., we will publish a link to your work under your name.
